How do I purchase a PDF?

DeepDyve's LitStream and Open Access collections make over 60 million journal articles available for instant full-text reading. However, sometimes a researcher needs to read an article that isn't part of those collections, or they need a copy of an article for regulatory or other purposes. In those cases, articles can be purchased directly through DeepDyve.

Purchasing articles with an individual account

Users of individual accounts can purchase articles from our publisher partners, such as Springer, Wiley, Taylor and Francis, and more. To purchase a PDF, simply click the button on the article page, which will give you the cost. DeepDyve doesn't add any fees to PDF purchases; if the publisher is a part of the Digital Library platform, the cost of the PDF will be the same as what you can get at the publisher's site.

Enter a credit card for the purchase and your card will be charged. You'll receive an email with a copy of the purchased article.

As an individual account holder, you won't be able to purchase articles from publishers we don't partner with. To read those articles, visit the publisher's site and purchase there.

DeepDyve doesn't add any fees to PDF purchases; if the publisher is a part of the Digital Library platform, the cost of the PDF will be the same as what you can get at the publisher's site. If they are not part of the platform, we use a third-party document delivery service to supply the PDF. That service may charge an additional fee, which we pass on. You can always check at the publisher site to confirm the price you are getting.

The default setting is paywall up, and users must pay per pdf purchase using a credit card, or PayPal. with this setup there is no ability to purchase CCC RightFind content, only DD LitStream content.

If the client would like to avoid having users pay per article, the paywall comes down and they are invoiced quarterly for DD LitStream content. The user sees a popup letting them know that their company is paying for the purchase. If we have received, and added CCC RightFind credentials to the database for a client, their users will also see and be able to purchase CCC RightFind content. The user sees a popup letting them know that CCC is fulfilling the purchase and their company is paying for it. Invoicing for CCC RightFind content is monthly and is issued directly from CCC to the client, we are not involved aside from connecting the user to CCC.
