What is a search alert? How do I set one up?
Search alerts will provide you with a weekly email alert with new DeepDyve articles related to a saved query. There are two ways to set up a search alert:
From the Search Results page
After you do a search, click the "Search Alerts" button at the top of the results:
In the dialog that opens, adjust the alert's name if you like and click "Create Alert". You can also copy the RSS feed link if you prefer to follow the search in a feed reader:
From Saved Searches in My Library
In My Library there is a section for Saved Searches:
All searches you do on DeepDyve (or in PubMed and Google Scholar if you are using the DeepDyve browser extension) are saved here automatically. If you see an envelope icon next to a search, email alerts are turned on for it. Click the gear icon next to any search to open its settings and turn email alerts on. Click the "Edit Search Alerts" button to see all your alerts:
Cancelling a search alert
To cancel a search alert:
- Go to the Saved Searches tab in My Library
- Click the gear icon next to the search alert you want to turn off
- Switch off the email alerts toggle
That's it! You can always set up the search alert again by starting a new search and turning it on from the search results, or by going back into Saved Searches.
